The organisation’s aim is to empower members to be the best they can be, both for themselves and society around them. It does this by providing a structure of support to help them make positive contributions to their local communities, whether it be through fundraising events or volunteer work. In an uncertain world, the Illuminati principles of integrity, respect and charity ring as true today as they ever have before.

Being persuaded that a just application of the principles, on which the Illuminati Fraternity is founded, must be promotive of private virtue and public prosperity, I shall always be happy to advance the interests of the Society, and to be considered by them as a deserving brother.

If these were the only benefits to becoming an Illuminati member, they would make a formidable case, but there are other rewards. The defining aspect of the Illuminati is the shared experience of initiation. Most social groups have rites of membership but often it is a one-time experience. Aside from pleasant memories, there are few long-term effects.
